VoIP & Real-Time Communications Infrastructure
SIP/RTP infrastructure and debugging across endpoints, PBXs, routing, media, packet captures, NAT and service health.
OVERVIEW
What I built.
SIP/RTP infrastructure and debugging across endpoints, PBXs, routing, media, packet captures, NAT and service health.
Built and debugged SIP/RTP systems across endpoint provisioning, PBX behavior, routing, NAT and media.
Worked with Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS, RTPengine, Drachtio and Linphone in different parts of the stack.
Used packet captures and RTP timing analysis to separate signaling success from media quality.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
How the system is divided.
Endpoint -> SIP edge/PBX/routing -> destination endpoint for signaling.
RTP media can take a different network path and is analyzed independently from SIP.
Observability spans process health, registration state, packet flow and user-visible call behavior.
NETWORK / DATA FLOW
What talks to what.
TECHNOLOGY STACK
The technical surface.
IMPLEMENTATION
How it works in practice.
- 01
Endpoint -> SIP edge/PBX/routing -> destination endpoint for signaling.
- 02
RTP media can take a different network path and is analyzed independently from SIP.
- 03
Observability spans process health, registration state, packet flow and user-visible call behavior.
TESTING & VALIDATION
How I know it works.
Registration and authentication tests
SIP ladder inspection
SDP/codec verification
RTP sequence/timestamp/jitter analysis
Inbound and two-way call testing
Service health correlation with user-visible call behavior
EXTERNAL SERVICES & DEPENDENCIES
What sits outside the core.
ENGINEERING EVIDENCE
Artifacts behind the claims.
BOUNDARIES / CONSTRAINTS
What the project does not pretend to solve.
—Successful signaling does not prove working media
—SIP and RTP may take different network paths
—NAT/timing/codec failures can live outside the PBX
RESULT / CURRENT STATE
What this produced.
A reusable cross-layer VoIP engineering environment where signaling and media failures can be traced rather than treated as PBX-only problems.
